ÍøÆسԹÏ's partnership with Shelter
Building on the impact of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï UK’s ground-breaking No Fixed Address bank account service, our partnership with Shelter has expanded to support people in immediate crisis and build a more secure future for those at risk.
With ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï UK’s support, Shelter have enhanced existing services as well as piloted new approaches that help to continuously improve and innovate their service offering. This includes funding for emergency help measures, improved digital advice and in-person services.
Funding Shelter's emergency helpline and web chat services
ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï UK’s funding is helping Shelter ensure they can support the tens of thousands who call the emergency housing helpline. These services are a lifeline to people facing housing insecurity, offering urgent advice if someone is homeless, has nowhere to stay that night, or is at risk of harm or abuse in their home.
Reaching people earlier with housing and financial guidance
The partnership aims to do more to stop people from becoming homeless in the first place. Early intervention is key. ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï UK funding has helped Shelter create and improve online pages related to financial guidance and housing insecurity.
Reaching out to support marginalised groups
Local pilot projects in Birmingham and Blackburn are offering targeted intervention to help tackle the root causes of housing and financial issues. More than 2,500 people at higher risk of homelessness, such as single-parent families, marginalised people and people with complex needs have been helped.
The ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï No Fixed Address service
The partnership builds on the work of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï UK’s ground-breaking No Fixed Address service which has helped more than 6,000 people without a fixed home address to open a bank account to improve their financial stability and independence.
How ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï UK colleagues are getting involved
ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï UK colleagues are showing their support through volunteering, as well as fundraising challenges such as the London Marathon.
